Tekni-Films announces an extension to its barrier films product line with the introduction of SYMMETRIC STRUCTURE Barrier laminations.
SOMERVILLE, NJ -- PVC/PCTFE (Aclar® and VapoShield™) laminations have a tendency to curl or bow during the blistering process. The structures newly introduced by Tekni-Films are symmetrically produced by laminating a thinner (typically .005 mil or 125 micron) PVC film on either side of the PCTFE barrier film. This symmetric structure reduces the amount of curl very considerably, as the PVC material shrink properties are identical on both side of the lamination, thereby effectively counteracting PCTFE curl.
