Tekni-Films Introduces New Series of
MVO2 High-Barrier Laminate Films

SOMERVILLE, NJ -- Tekni-Films, a Tekni-Plex Company, has introduced its new TekniFlex MVO2 range of barrier films designed and engineered to offer both high moisture-vapor barrier (MVTR) and high oxygen barrier simultaneously in one structure.
Representing the next generation of advanced laminates that utilize Tekni-Films’ well-known and widely-used PVC Aclar‚ and VapoShield™ structures, the MVO2 films introduce a layer of EVOH in the middle to impart an oxygen barrier.
EVOH, a flexible chemical barrier resin, is an outstanding O2 barrier material that allows pharmaceutical manufacturers to get the benefits of a blister film with both low MVTR and high oxygen-barrier properties.
The MVO2 film structures follow Tekni-Films’ standard triplex configurations at various levels of MVTR barrier, which are dependent on the thickness of the PCTFE needed. Tekni-Films’ standard thicknesses, whether for MVTR only, or for MVTR and O2 barrier combined, remain unchanged.
